The FIRST GROUP RIDE.....

Well.... I lobbied the email group for anyone who wanted to join me in a 400km blast up to Rainbow Beach for a lunch at the Surf Club restaurant there, and got a good response. There was even to be a rendezvous at Gympie with another crew who had a different starting point to meet us along the way.

I'd planned a wonderful ride through winding country roads, then up the D'aguilar Range to Mary Cairncross Park/Lookout where we ordered our brekky......

... which we were to stop for further along the ride at Kenilworth - a little dairy hamlet on the other side of the range, famous for it's cheeses, mik, youghurt etc...

A marvellous 'big brekky' was had and it was time to hit the road again, as we were meeting the Bundy crew in Gympie and all riding out to Rainbow Beach as a group. You can see Bundaberg on the Route Map by zooming out and looking north of Rainbow Beach (Point C).

We eventually rolled in to the meeting point and picked up Jinxy and Mark to continue out to Rainbow Beach.

It was a great time and the first real introduction into what now are solid friendships. Everyone spoke highly of the day and agreed that there should be a lot more of them. This was the beginnings of something huge! We just didn't know it then.
