FOUND!!! Pics from the first ever OzSTOC RTE! ......

Thought these were gone forever...

From the old Yahoo email list, I'd assembled enough keen punters to do a ride with me from BP Caboolture Northbound Service Centre via a fun run though the Mary Valley with Brekky at Nana's Cafe in Kenilworth to lunch at Rainbow Beach SLSC. This was on 16th May, 2010.

HRH Brian (ORSM)

Stopped at Mary Cairncross for a looksee and pre-ordered brekky for Kenilworth so it would be ready for us when we arrived.

Met up with Jinxy and Mark from the Bundy Crew at Gympie, and headed out as a group to Rainbow Beach.

A great day was had by all, and we agreed that there should be many more - and there have been.

Thanks for reading.

I'd rather be doing this....

Nuff said!

Thanks to Barry Lane for this pic taken along Lions Rd near Mt Lindesay, Qld...

She's still got it....

Although she's just turned 124,000, STella is still looking pretty good after a tub...

But I may be biased.

Important, affordable collision avoidance farkle for STs... MUST HAVE! (vid)

Mrs Diesel first saw this and thought it important enough to purchase for me for the bike.

It is a collision avoidance farkle - VERY AFFORDABLE, and quite frankly, NO ST should be without this.

I thought it important enough to make a quick 50 sec video about it.......

We can all thank Mrs Diesel for this innovation...

...

Sarcastic b*tch!

Texting whilst driving? See what I saw this day...

Was heading from Maleny to Montville/Flaxton along the range during a sun shower over the holidays with Mrs Diesel, and rounded a bend to see this....

It happened 60 secs before we got there, and another car with two older folks stopped on the other side of the road to help as well.

A shaken and teary, but otherwise okay young lass had just crawled out of the now compressed passenger cabin area and was being consoled by the couple (who were also phoning for police attendance).

I had a good look inside the car, and asked the girl if anyone else or any pets were still in the vehicle. No.

I then had to direct traffic as the road was wet and greasy, and cars were making a meal of getting by the scene safely.

Another car pulled up and a young fella asked if he could help, so I asked him if he was able to (without risk) turn off the overturned car's ignition - he couldn't.

I approached the girl one last time to check for shock, and offered my phone if she needed to contact family etc.

I told her to make sure she gets a 'facebook status' pic when her phone turns up.

My empathy for the girl would take a nasty turn if I found out she was texting etc which caused these events. We were the next car along and could have had a head-on if timing was only a minute different. I never found out. I give the benefit of the doubt as the (straight) road was greasy and it was raining.

The driver was very brave and helpful in answering questions - waaay too much trauma usually for a girl of her age to have to deal with. Kudos to her.

A Nice Day Out With Friends....

Sun was out, I'm on hols and I own an ST - nuff said.

I texted Beatup and Shiney to see if they wanted to join in for a coffee.

Ian couldn't, but Carrol and Dave were starters.

We met at my place and left for the Mt Mee - Dayboro Rd to kick things off.

Stopped in at the Dayboro Bakery for essential fuels to keep us going.

Did the loop down towards Samford Village and along Winn Rd and back to Dayboro.

There was another coffee stop at "The Place 2B" near D'Aguilar - then back over the range towards Peachester for another loop along Commissioner's Flat Rd and back to Woodford Pub for a refreshing and frothy one.

Here is the route...

And that my friends, is why we ride with friends.

Thanks for a great day out!

Afternoon ride on STella...

Got home from work feeling like I'd just been caught in bed with Mrs Rhinocerous by Mr Rhinocerous after a particularly nasty day at the swamp (from Blackadder)!...

So I thought I'd take my fave ST1300 Pan European out for a ride to the top of the hill overlooking Somerset Dam (near Kilcoy Qld).

To get there, I traversed some great little back roads to Villeneuve and ride next to the Brisbane River in the sunset - here is what it looked like...

Then on through Kilcoy, and the small climb to the top of the hill overlooking the dam....

Then, it was a quick blast home with a somewhat 'widish' grin etched on my face.
